Ultimate Creamy Paprika Chicken with Crispy Fries — it’s the perfect mix of rich, smoky flavor and crispy comfort. Think: tender chicken in a creamy, paprika-spiced sauce served with golden fries for dipping and scooping.


🍗 Ultimate Creamy Paprika Chicken with Crispy Fries

📝 Ingredients:

For the Creamy Paprika Chicken:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp olive oil + 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream (or use crème fraîche or sour cream for tang)
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard (optional, for depth)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

For the Crispy Fries:

  • 4 large russet potatoes, peeled and cut into fries
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt, pepper, and optional paprika or garlic powder
  • Optional: store-bought frozen fries or sweet potato fries

👩‍🍳 Instructions:

🔥 1. Make the Fries:

Oven or Air Fryer Method:

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) or air fryer to 400°F.
  2. Toss potato fries with olive oil, salt, pepper, and spices.
  3. Spread in a single layer on a baking tray or air fryer basket.
  4. Bake/air fry for 25–30 min, flipping halfway, until golden and crisp.

🍗 2. Cook the Chicken:

  1. Season chicken with salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder.
  2. Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Sear chicken 4–5 minutes per side until golden and cooked through.
  4. Remove chicken and set aside.

🧄 3. Make the Sauce:

  1. In the same pan, lower heat and sauté onions until soft (about 3–4 min).
  2. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute.
  3. Stir in chicken broth and scrape up the browned bits.
  4. Add cream and mustard, stir to combine.
  5. Simmer for 5–7 minutes until slightly thickened.
  6. Return chicken to the pan and coat with sauce. Simmer 3–5 more minutes.

🍽️ Serve It Up:

  • Plate the chicken and spoon that luscious creamy paprika sauce over top.
  • Pile on the crispy fries and maybe a little dipping ramekin of sauce on the side.
  • Garnish with chopped parsley or a sprinkle of extra paprika.

🔁 Variations:

  • Spicy version? Add chili flakes or cayenne to the sauce.
  • Add veg? Stir in baby spinach, roasted red peppers, or mushrooms.
  • Shortcut? Use rotisserie chicken slices and just make the sauce.
