Ooo, Sweet Roll Cheesecake Danishes — love that combo! Here’s a simple, tasty recipe that uses sweet roll dough to make soft, fluffy danishes filled with creamy cheesecake goodness and a sweet glaze.


🥐 Sweet Roll Cheesecake Danishes

Ingredients:

For the danish:

  • 1 can (12.4 oz) refrigerated sweet roll dough (like Pillsbury Sweet Rolls)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/3 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg (for egg wash)

For the glaze:

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1–2 tbsp milk
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven:
    Preheat to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare filling:
    In a bowl, beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth and creamy.
  3. Shape danishes:
    Unroll the sweet roll dough and separate the rolls gently. Flatten each roll slightly on the parchment-lined baking sheet.
  4. Add filling:
    Spoon about 1–2 tablespoons of the cream cheese mixture onto the center of each flattened dough piece.
  5. Form danishes:
    Fold up the edges of the dough slightly to create a border around the filling, pinching corners gently to hold the shape.
  6. Egg wash:
    Beat the egg and brush it lightly over the dough edges to get a golden, shiny finish.
  7. Bake:
    Bake for 12–15 minutes or until golden brown and puffed.
  8. Make glaze:
    While baking, whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla to a smooth drizzle consistency.
  9. Glaze & serve:
    Drizzle the glaze over warm danishes. Let cool slightly before enjoying.

Tips:

  • Add fresh berries or jam on top of the cream cheese filling for extra flavor.
  • Use lemon zest in the filling for a citrusy twist.
  • You can swap sweet roll dough for crescent roll dough or puff pastry if preferred.
