Sirloin steak fajitas

Posted on April 30, 2025

Hereโ€™s a flavor-packed, sizzling recipe for Sirloin Steak Fajitas โ€” perfect for a quick weeknight dinner or weekend feast. This version uses a flavorful marinade and sears the steak for juicy, tender results every time.

๐ŸŒฎ Sirloin Steak Fajitas

Ingredients:

For the Marinade:

  • 1.5 lbs sirloin steak, thinly sliced against the grain
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • Juice of 2 limes
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

For the Fajitas:

  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 yellow onion, sliced
  • 1 tbsp oil (for cooking)
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • Warm flour or corn tortillas

Optional toppings: Sour cream, guacamole, shredded cheese, salsa, chopped cilantro, lime wedges

๐Ÿ”ฅ Instructions:

  1. Marinate the steak:
    • Combine all marinade ingredients in a bowl or zip-top bag. Add steak slices and marinate in the fridge for at least 30 minutes (up to 4 hours for more flavor).
  2. Cook the veggies:
    • In a large skillet or cast iron pan, heat 1 tbsp oil over medium-high heat.
    • Add sliced peppers and onions. Cook until tender-crisp and slightly charred, about 6โ€“8 minutes. Season with a little salt and pepper. Remove and set aside.
  3. Cook the steak:
    • In the same skillet, add a bit more oil if needed.
    • Remove steak from marinade (shake off excess) and cook in batches over high heat for 1โ€“2 minutes per side, depending on thickness. Don’t overcrowd the pan.
  4. Combine:
    • Return veggies to the skillet and toss with steak until heated through.
  5. Serve:
    • Warm tortillas and serve with your favorite toppings!

โœ… Tips:

  • Slice steak thinly against the grain to keep it tender.
  • A cast iron skillet or grill pan gives the best sear.
  • Can substitute sirloin with flank or skirt steak.

Would you like a spicy version or a side dish recommendation (like cilantro-lime rice or beans)?
