Here’s a Quick and Easy Pan-Fried Corn Fritters recipe — golden, crispy on the outside, soft and sweet inside. Perfect as a snack, side dish, or breakfast treat.


🌽 Quick and Easy Pan-Fried Corn Fritters

📝 Ingredients (Makes about 8–10 fritters)

  • 1½ cups corn kernels (fresh, canned, or frozen)

  • ½ cup all-purpose flour

  • 1 egg

  • ¼ cup milk (or water)

  • 2 tablespoons chopped green onions (or regular onions)

  • 1 garlic clove, minced (optional)

  • ¼ teaspoon baking powder (for fluffiness)

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • A pinch of paprika or chili flakes (optional)

  • 2 tablespoons grated cheese (optional, for extra richness)

  • 2–3 tablespoons oil (for frying)


🍳 Instructions

1. Prepare the batter:

In a large bowl, combine:

  • Corn

  • Flour

  • Egg

  • Milk

  • Green onions

  • Garlic (if using)

  • Baking powder

  • Salt, pepper, and optional spices/cheese

Mix until just combined. The batter should be thick and scoopable — not runny.

2. Heat the pan:

Heat oil in a non-stick or cast-iron skillet over medium heat.

3. Fry the fritters:

Scoop 2 tablespoons of batter per fritter into the pan. Flatten slightly with a spatula. Cook for 2–3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crisp.

Don’t overcrowd the pan — fry in batches if needed.

4. Drain and serve:

Place cooked fritters on paper towels to drain excess oil.

Serve hot with:

  • Sour cream or Greek yogurt

  • Sweet chili sauce

  • Spicy mayo

  • A squeeze of lime


🔁 Variations

  • Add finely chopped bell peppers, jalapeños, or herbs like parsley or cilantro.

  • Make it gluten-free by using chickpea flour or a GF flour blend.

  • Swap milk with plant-based milk for a dairy-free version.
