Put uncooked rice in a slow cooker with these 4 ingredients. It’s like heaven in a bowl..

Here’s a comfort food classic that’s creamy, cozy, and basically makes itself — perfect for busy days. Just throw uncooked rice and 4 simple ingredients into your slow cooker, and you’ll have a heavenly dish by dinnertime.


🍚 Heaven-in-a-Bowl Slow Cooker Rice Dish

(4-Ingredient Dump & Go Recipe)

🧂 Ingredients:

  1. 1 cup uncooked long-grain white rice
  2. 2 cups chicken broth (or vegetable broth)
  3. 1 can cream of chicken soup (or cream of mushroom for a twist)
  4. 1–1½ cups shredded cooked chicken (rotisserie works great — or use raw if slow cooking longer)

🔪 Optional Add-ins (makes it even better):

  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder + onion powder
  • 1 cup frozen peas, corn, or mixed veggies
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheese (for extra richness)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

🕖 Instructions:

  1. Dump Everything In
    Add uncooked rice, chicken broth, cream of chicken soup, and shredded chicken to your slow cooker. Stir to combine.
  2. Cook
    • Cover and cook on LOW for 4–5 hours or HIGH for 2–3 hours.
    • Check for doneness around hour 4 (rice should be tender and creamy).
    • Stir occasionally if possible (not necessary but helps texture).
  3. Finish & Serve
    • Fluff with a fork and season to taste.
    • Top with fresh herbs or shredded cheese, if desired.

📝 Notes:

  • Using raw chicken? Place whole raw boneless breasts or thighs on top of the rice mixture and cook on LOW for 6–7 hours. Shred the chicken before serving.
  • Using brown rice? Add an extra 1/2 cup liquid and increase cooking time by 1–2 hours on LOW.
  • Creamier version: Stir in a splash of milk or cream at the end.

💡 Serving Ideas:

  • Spoon over roasted broccoli or green beans
  • Serve with garlic toast or biscuits
  • Use as a creamy filling for burritos or wraps
