Posted on May 31, 2025

Here’s a delicious, easy recipe for Peach Butter Swim Biscuits — buttery, golden, and bursting with juicy peach flavor. These biscuits “swim” in melted butter as they bake, creating a crisp, golden crust and fluffy interior. Perfect for breakfast, dessert, or a sweet snack with tea. 🍑🧈

🍑 Peach Butter Swim Biscuits Recipe

🍽️ Servings: 9 biscuits

⏱️ Time: 10 min prep + 25 min bake

🧂 Ingredients:

For the Biscuits:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 tbsp sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 ½ cups buttermilk
  • ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • ½ cup peach preserves or peach butter (plus more for serving)

🍳 Instructions:

1. Preheat & Prep

  • Preheat oven to 450°F (232°C).
  • Pour the melted butter into an 8×8 or 9×9 baking dish (or cast iron skillet).

2. Mix Dry Ingredients

  • In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.

3. Add Buttermilk

  • Pour in the buttermilk and gently mix until just combined. Don’t overmix.

4. Swirl in Peach

  • Gently fold in the peach preserves. You can fully mix it or swirl it lightly for a marbled effect.

5. Transfer to Pan

  • Pour the batter over the melted butter in the pan. Use a spatula to spread it evenly.
  • You’ll see the butter rise up the sides — that’s the “swim” part!

6. Score & Bake

  • Lightly score the batter into 9 squares (this helps them bake evenly).
  • Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until golden brown on top and a toothpick comes out clean.

🍽️ Serving Suggestions:

  • Serve warm with more peach butter, honey, or whipped cream.
  • Add a scoop of vanilla ice cream for dessert.
  • Drizzle with a glaze (powdered sugar + milk + a touch of vanilla).

📝 Tips:

  • No buttermilk? Use 1 ½ cups milk + 1 tbsp lemon juice or vinegar (let sit for 5–10 minutes).
  • Try adding a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg to the batter for a cozy flavor.
  • You can substitute apple butter, fig jam, or apricot preserves for a twist.
