Here’s a simple and flavorful Pan-Seared Chicken Breast recipe that gives you a juicy inside with a golden, crispy crust:


🐔 Pan-Seared Chicken Breast Recipe

✅ Ingredients:

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder or granulated garlic
  • 1 tsp paprika (optional, for color & flavor)
  • 1–2 tbsp olive oil or butter
  • Fresh herbs (like thyme or rosemary — optional)
  • 2 cloves garlic, smashed (optional)
  • Splash of chicken broth or lemon juice (optional for deglazing)

🔪 Instructions:

  1. Prep the Chicken:
    • Pat chicken breasts dry with paper towels.
    • Pound them to an even thickness (~¾ inch) for even cooking.
    • Season both sides with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
  2. Preheat the Pan:
    • Heat a large skillet (preferably cast iron or stainless steel) over medium-high heat.
    • Add oil or butter and let it get hot — it should shimmer, not smoke.
  3. Sear the Chicken:
    • Place chicken in the pan presentation side down (smooth side).
    • Don’t move it — let it sear for 5–6 minutes, or until golden brown.
  4. Flip and Finish:
    • Flip the chicken, reduce heat to medium.
    • Add garlic and herbs if using.
    • Cook another 5–7 minutes, or until internal temp reaches 165°F (74°C).
  5. Optional Deglaze:
    • Add a splash of chicken broth, wine, or lemon juice to the pan and let it sizzle to lift the flavorful bits.
    • Spoon it over the chicken for extra flavor.
  6. Rest & Serve:
    • Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before slicing — this keeps it juicy.

🍽️ Serving Ideas:

  • Slice over salad or pasta
  • Serve with mashed potatoes and green beans
  • Make it into a sandwich or wrap
