Creamy White Chocolate Mousse Recipe

Here’s a Creamy White Chocolate Mousse recipe that’s indulgent and perfect for special occasions or simply satisfying your sweet tooth!

Ingredients:

  • 200g (7 oz) white chocolate, chopped
  • 1 cup (240 ml) heavy cream, chilled
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) milk
  • 1 tablespoon powdered sugar (optional, depending on your sweetness preference)
  • A pinch of salt (optional, to balance sweetness)

Instructions:

  1. Melt the White Chocolate:

    • In a heatproof bowl, melt the white chocolate over a double boiler or microwave. If using a microwave, heat the chocolate in 20-30 second intervals, stirring in between to prevent burning. Let the chocolate cool slightly after melting.
  2. Whip the Cream:

    • In a separate bowl, beat the chilled heavy cream with vanilla extract and powdered sugar (if using) until stiff peaks form. Be careful not to overwhip.
  3. Combine the Ingredients:

    • Slowly fold the melted white chocolate into the whipped cream. Use a spatula to gently combine the two, taking care not to deflate the whipped cream. You want the mousse to remain light and airy.
  4. Add Milk and Salt:

    • If the mousse feels too thick, add a little milk to adjust the texture. Also, add a pinch of salt if you’d like to balance the sweetness of the white chocolate (optional but recommended).
  5. Chill the Mousse:

    • Spoon the mousse into individual serving dishes or a large bowl. Refrigerate for at least 1-2 hours to allow it to set properly.
  6. Serve:

    • Before serving, you can top the mousse with fresh berries, a drizzle of chocolate syrup, or a sprinkle of grated white chocolate for added texture and flavor.

Tips:

  • For an extra smooth texture, you can strain the melted white chocolate before folding it into the whipped cream to remove any bits.
  • For added flavor, you can infuse the cream with a little lemon zest or a splash of liqueur (such as Grand Marnier or Chambord) for a more sophisticated twist.
