Here’s a rich, savory, and quick-to-make recipe for Creamy Garlic Butter Shrimp—perfect over pasta, rice, or with crusty bread.


🍤 Creamy Garlic Butter Shrimp

🧄 Ingredients:

  • 1 lb (450g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined

  • Salt & black pepper, to taste

  • 2 tbsp olive oil or butter (for searing shrimp)

  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter

  • 5 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 cup heavy cream (or half-and-half for lighter option)

  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

  • 1 tbsp lemon juice (freshly squeezed)

  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)


👩‍🍳 Instructions:

  1. Season & Sear Shrimp

    • Pat shrimp dry. Season with salt and pepper.

    • Heat olive oil or 1 tbsp butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

    • Cook shrimp for 1–2 minutes per side until pink and just cooked through. Remove and set aside.

  2. Make Garlic Butter Base

    • In the same skillet, lower heat to medium. Add 4 tbsp butter and minced garlic.

    • Sauté for 1 minute until fragrant (don’t brown the garlic).

  3. Create the Cream Sauce

    • Pour in the cream. Bring to a gentle simmer.

    • Stir in Parmesan cheese and red pepper flakes (if using).

    • Simmer 2–3 minutes until sauce thickens slightly.

  4. Add Shrimp Back

    • Return shrimp to skillet. Stir in lemon juice.

    • Simmer 1 more minute, just to coat shrimp and heat through.

  5. Garnish & Serve

    • Sprinkle with fresh parsley.

    • Serve hot over pasta, rice, or with warm crusty bread.


🔄 Optional Add-ins:

  • Spinach or sun-dried tomatoes for added flavor and color.

  • White wine (1/4 cup) in place of some cream for a sharper flavor.
