Cherry Delight is a sweet, creamy, and refreshing dessert that’s simple to make and always a hit at parties or family gatherings. Here’s a classic recipe for you:

Ingredients:

For the Crust:

  • 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs (about 10-12 graham crackers)
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted

For the Creamy Layer:

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 8 oz whipped topping (Cool Whip)
  • 1 cup sour cream

For the Topping:

  • 1 can (21 oz) cherry pie filling

Instructions:

1. Make the Crust:

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a medium-sized bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs, sugar, and melted butter. Mix until everything is well combined and the crumbs are coated in butter.
  • Press the mixture into the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish to form an even crust.
  • Bake for 8-10 minutes, then remove from the oven and let it cool completely.

2. Make the Creamy Layer:

  • In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar together until smooth and creamy.
  • Add the sour cream and mix until fully combined.
  • Gently fold in the whipped topping until everything is well incorporated. You want it to be light and fluffy.
  • Spread the creamy mixture evenly over the cooled graham cracker crust.

3. Add the Cherry Topping:

  • Spoon the cherry pie filling evenly over the creamy layer. You can also add some extra cherries if you like!

4. Chill:

  • Refrigerate the Cherry Delight for at least 3-4 hours or overnight to allow the flavors to meld and the dessert to set.

5. Serve:

  • Slice into squares and serve chilled. Enjoy the refreshing and sweet flavors!

This dessert is not only easy to make but also a crowd-pleaser with its combination of creamy, tart, and sweet flavors.
