Bacon-wrapped tater tots are a fun and flavorful appetizer or snack that combines crispy bacon with golden, crispy tater tots! Here’s a simple recipe to make them:

Ingredients:

  • 1 bag of frozen tater tots (about 20-24 tots)
  • 12-14 slices of bacon (cut in half if necessary)
  • Toothpicks (to secure the bacon)
  • Optional: BBQ sauce, ranch, or your favorite dipping sauce for serving

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil for easy cleanup.

  2. Cook the tater tots: Bake the tater tots according to the package directions, usually about 20-25 minutes, until they are golden and crispy.

  3. Wrap the tater tots:

    • Once the tater tots are done and have cooled slightly, wrap each tater tot with a half-slice of bacon.
    • Secure the bacon with a toothpick, ensuring it stays wrapped tightly around the tater tot.
  4. Arrange on the baking sheet: Place the bacon-wrapped tater tots on the prepared baking sheet. Make sure they are spaced out a bit so that the bacon crisps evenly on all sides.

  5. Bake: Return the bacon-wrapped tater tots to the oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy and browned. If needed, you can flip them halfway through for even crisping.

  6. Serve: Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving. Serve with your favorite dipping sauces, such as ranch, BBQ sauce, or ketchup.

Tips:

  • For extra flavor, you can sprinkle a little seasoning, like garlic powder, onion powder, or smoked paprika, over the bacon before baking.
  • If you prefer, you can also cook these on a grill for a smoky flavor. Just be sure to keep an eye on them to prevent burning.
