Posted on May 1, 2025

Garlic Chili Seared Chicken Fillets

Ingredients (serves 2–3):

  • 2–3 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (sliced into fillets)

  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)

  • 1–2 red chilies (finely chopped, adjust to heat preference)

  • 2 tbsp olive oil (or any neutral oil)

  • 1 tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 tbsp lime juice (or lemon juice)

  • 1 tsp honey or brown sugar (optional, for balance)

  • Salt and black pepper to taste

  • Fresh herbs (like cilantro or parsley, optional for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Chicken:

    • Slice chicken breasts horizontally to create thin fillets.

    • Season both sides lightly with salt and pepper.

  2. Marinate (Optional but recommended):

    • In a bowl, combine garlic, chilies, soy sauce, lime juice, and honey.

    • Toss chicken fillets in the marinade and let sit for 15–30 minutes.

  3. Sear the Chicken:

    • Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.

    • Once hot, add the marinated chicken fillets.

    • Cook 3–4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through (internal temp should be 165°F / 75°C).

    • If garlic begins to burn, reduce heat slightly.

  4. Rest and Serve:

    • Let chicken rest for 3–5 minutes before slicing.

    • Garnish with fresh herbs and extra chili flakes if desired.
