Chocolate Cookies

Here’s a classic Chocolate Cookie recipe that’s easy to make and perfect for satisfying your sweet tooth!

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips (or chunks)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven:

    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  2. Cream the Butter and Sugars:

    • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar using a hand mixer or stand mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy (about 2-3 minutes).
  3. Add the Eggs and Vanilla:

    • Beat in the eggs one at a time, making sure each is fully incorporated before adding the next.
    • Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Combine the Dry Ingredients:

    • In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Mix Wet and Dry Ingredients:

    • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined. Be careful not to over-mix.
  6. Add the Chocolate Chips:

    • Gently fold in the chocolate chips (or chunks) until evenly distributed.
  7. Shape the Cookies:

    • Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart. You can use a cookie scoop for uniform-sized cookies.
  8. Bake:

    • Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown but the centers are still soft.
    • Remember, the cookies will continue to cook a little on the baking sheet once you remove them from the oven.
  9. Cool:

    • Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Tips:

  • For a fun twist, try adding a mix of different chocolate chips (milk, dark, and white chocolate) or sprinkle a pinch of sea salt on top before baking for extra flavor.
  • These cookies will stay soft and chewy for days, making them perfect for storage in an airtight container.
