Keto Naan Bread

Posted on March 9, 2025

Keto Naan Bread is a low-carb alternative to traditional naan bread, making it perfect for those following a ketogenic diet. This version uses almond flour and coconut flour instead of regular flour, which keeps the carb count low while still providing a soft, chewy texture. Here’s a simple recipe for Keto Naan Bread:

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup almond flour
  • 2 tablespoons coconut flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt (unsweetened)
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter (or ghee for a more traditional flavor)
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh cilantro (optional, for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Dough:

    • In a mixing bowl, combine the almond flour, coconut flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir well to combine.
    • Add the egg, Greek yogurt, and melted butter to the dry ingredients. Mix everything together until a dough forms. It should be slightly sticky but manageable.
    • If the dough is too wet, you can add a bit more almond flour to get the right consistency.
  2. Form the Naan:

    • Divide the dough into 4 equal portions.
    • Roll each portion into a ball and flatten it between your hands or use a rolling pin to shape it into a round or oval naan, about 1/4 inch thick.
  3. Cook the Naan:

    • Heat a non-stick skillet or frying pan over medium-high heat. Add a little butter or oil to grease the pan.
    • Place one naan dough round onto the hot skillet. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on the first side, until golden brown and slightly bubbly. Flip it over and cook for another 1-2 minutes on the other side until golden and cooked through.
    • Repeat the process for the remaining naan dough.
  4. Serve:

    • Optionally, brush the naan with a little more melted butter or ghee while it’s still hot.
    • Garnish with fresh cilantro or your favorite toppings if desired.

Tips:

  • You can also add some garlic butter on top for extra flavor.
  • These keto naans are great for dipping into curries, soups, or enjoying as a side to your favorite dishes!

Enjoy your soft, delicious keto naan!
