Easy Frozen Fruit Salad

Posted on April 1, 2025

An Easy Frozen Fruit Salad is a refreshing and healthy treat, perfect for hot weather or as a light dessert! It’s super simple to make and can be customized with your favorite fruits and a light creamy base. Here’s a straightforward recipe to get you started:

Easy Frozen Fruit Salad
Ingredients:
3 cups mixed frozen fruit (such as strawberries, blueberries, pineapple, mango, or peaches)

1/2 cup whipped topping (like Cool Whip or homemade whipped cream)

1/2 cup vanilla yogurt (or Greek yogurt for a thicker texture)

1 tbsp honey or maple syrup (optional, for extra sweetness)

1/4 cup mini marshmallows (optional, for added texture)

1/4 cup chopped nuts (optional, such as pecans or almonds)

Instructions:
Prepare the Fruit: If you’re using frozen fruit, let it thaw slightly for about 10-15 minutes to soften it a little. You want it just soft enough to mix easily but not completely melted.

Mix the Creamy Base: In a large bowl, combine the whipped topping, vanilla yogurt, and honey or maple syrup (if you’re using it). Stir until smooth and well combined.

Add the Fruit: Gently fold in the mixed fruit, making sure it’s evenly distributed in the creamy base. If you’d like, add mini marshmallows and chopped nuts for extra texture and flavor.

Freeze: Pour the fruit salad mixture into a shallow dish or a loaf pan, spreading it out evenly. You can also use ice cube trays for individual portions. Cover the dish with plastic wrap or a lid, and place it in the freezer.

Freeze Until Firm: Freeze for at least 3-4 hours or overnight until the salad is firm and scoopable.

Serve: Once frozen, scoop out the fruit salad and serve immediately. It’s perfect on a hot day and can be stored in the freezer for up to a week.

Tips:
Fruit Variations: Use any mix of frozen fruits you like. You can even add some fresh fruits like grapes or kiwi, but keep in mind fresh fruits will freeze more solidly than frozen ones.

Creamy Base Options: For a lighter option, you could swap the whipped topping for a lighter version of Greek yogurt or use non-dairy yogurt for a vegan version.

Sweetness: Taste the mixture before freezing and adjust the sweetness as desired. You can always add more honey or syrup if you like it sweeter!

Enjoy your cool, refreshing frozen fruit salad! Let me know if you’d like more variations or ideas for toppings!
