Ninja dual airfryer roasted chicken

Posted on September 22, 2025

Here’s a simple, juicy, and flavorful roasted chicken recipe made in a Ninja DualZone Air Fryer — perfect for getting crispy skin and tender meat, whether you’re cooking a whole spatchcocked chicken or bone-in pieces.

🍗 Ninja Dual Air Fryer Roasted Chicken

🔧 Method: Air Fryer

📦 Appliance: Ninja DualZone Air Fryer (Two Baskets)

⏱️ Time: 35–50 minutes (depending on cut)

🧂 Ingredients:

For 1 whole chicken (spatchcocked or cut into parts), or 4–6 thighs/legs/breasts:

  • 1.5 to 4 lb chicken (whole or pieces)
  • 1.5 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika (smoked or sweet)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp dried thyme or Italian herbs
  • Optional: lemon zest, chili flakes, or rosemary

🥣 Instructions:

🔪 1. Prep the Chicken

  • Pat chicken dry with paper towels.
  • If using a whole chicken, spatchcock (butterfly) it by removing the backbone with kitchen shears. Flatten it out.
  • Rub with olive oil and season all over with spice blend.

🍳 2. Preheat Air Fryer

  • Set both baskets to Air Fry, 375°F (190°C), for 35–45 minutes.
  • If your Ninja model auto-syncs zones, use Match Cook if both baskets will be used.

🍗 3. Cook the Chicken

  • Place the chicken skin side down first in the basket(s). Don’t overcrowd — air needs to circulate.
  • Air fry at 375°F:
    • Bone-in pieces: 22–28 minutes (flip halfway)
    • Spatchcocked whole chicken: 35–45 minutes (flip after 25 mins)

✅ Chicken is done at 165°F (74°C) internally (thickest part).

🔄 4. Flip for Crispy Skin

  • Flip the chicken skin-side up for the last 10–15 minutes to crisp up.

🧄 Optional Add-ons (in other basket):

  • Veggies: Add baby potatoes, carrots, or green beans to the second basket. Toss with olive oil, salt, pepper, and roast at same temp for 20–25 minutes.
  • Use Smart Finish to time both zones to complete together.

🍽️ Serving Ideas:

  • Serve with lemon wedges and fresh herbs.
  • Drizzle with hot honey, garlic butter, or chimichurri for extra flair.

🧼 Cleanup Tip:

Line the basket with parchment or foil for easier cleanup — just don’t block air vents.
