Here’s a recipe for a rich and delicious banana bread! It’s moist, flavorful, and sure to be a hit.
Ingredients:
3 ripe bananas, mashed
1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, melted
1 cup (200g) sugar (you can use half brown sugar for a deeper flavor)
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups (240g) all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup (120ml) sour cream (or yogurt for a tangy twist)
1/2 cup (60g) chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
1/2 cup (90g) chocolate chips (optional, but adds a great touch of indulgence)
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork or potato masher until smooth.
In another bowl, mix the melted butter and sugar together until combined, then beat in the eggs, one at a time, and add the vanilla extract.
Stir the mashed bananas into the wet mixture.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined. Be careful not to overmix!
Fold in the sour cream, nuts, and/or chocolate chips, if you’re using them.
Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
Bake for 60-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Allow the bread to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
Tips:
The riper the bananas, the better! Overripe bananas will give the bread a more intense banana flavor.
If you want a lighter texture, you can sift the flour and baking soda before adding it to the wet ingredients.
For extra richness, you can substitute some of the butter with cream cheese.
Enjoy your rich banana bread! Let me know how it turns out if you try it!
