Crock Pot Smothered Pork Chops are a hearty and easy-to-make dish, perfect for a comforting meal. The pork chops cook in a flavorful gravy that makes them tender and delicious. Here’s a simple recipe for you to try:

Ingredients:

  • 4 bone-in or boneless pork chops (about 1 inch thick)
  • 1 packet onion soup mix
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup (or cream of chicken soup)
  • 1 cup chicken broth (or water)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley or thyme for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Pork Chops:

    • Season the pork chops on both sides with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  2. Make the Gravy:

    • In a bowl, whisk together the onion soup mix, cream of mushroom soup, chicken broth (or water), and Worcestershire sauce. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
  3. Layer in the Crock Pot:

    • Place the pork chops in the bottom of the Crock Pot.
    • Pour the gravy mixture over the pork chops, making sure they are covered.
  4. Cook:

    • Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or high for 3-4 hours until the pork chops are tender.
  5. Serve:

    • Serve the smothered pork chops over mashed potatoes, rice, or noodles, and spoon the gravy over the top. Garnish with fresh parsley or thyme if desired.

Tips:

  • You can add sliced onions or mushrooms for extra flavor.
  • If you prefer a thicker gravy, you can mix 1-2 teaspoons of cornstarch with a little water and stir it into the gravy during the last 30 minutes of cooking.
