Churro Cracker Candy

Here’s a simple recipe to make Churro Cracker Candy at home:


Churro Cracker Candy Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 40 saltine crackers (about 1 sleeve)
  • 1 cup unsalted butter (2 sticks)
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 ½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions:

  1. Prep the crackers:
    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
    • Line a large baking sheet with aluminum foil or parchment paper.
    • Arrange the saltine crackers in a single layer on the sheet, fitting them tightly.
  2. Make the caramel topping:
    • In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
    • Add the brown sugar and cinnamon, stirring constantly until the mixture comes to a boil.
    • Let it boil for 3 minutes while stirring continuously.
    • Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
  3. Pour over crackers:
    • Carefully pour the hot caramel mixture evenly over the crackers.
    • Use a spatula to spread the caramel, ensuring all crackers get coated.
  4. Bake:
    • Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes until bubbly and caramelized.
  5. Cool and dust:
    • Remove from oven and let cool completely on the baking sheet (about 1 hour).
    • Once cooled and hardened, break into pieces.
    • Dust with powdered sugar for that churro-style cinnamon-sugar finish.

Optional: You can drizzle melted chocolate on top after baking for an extra decadent treat!
