Here’s a simple, savory Cheddar Cheese Quick Bread recipe—no yeast, no kneading, and ready in under an hour! It’s cheesy, moist, and perfect as a side with soups, salads, or on its own.


🧀 Cheddar Cheese Quick Bread

🕒 Prep Time: 10 mins | 🍞 Bake Time: 40–45 mins | 🍽️ Serves: 8 slices


Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder (optional, for flavor)
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted (plus more for brushing)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line with parchment paper.
  2. Mix dry ingredients:
    In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, garlic powder, and black pepper.
  3. Add cheese:
    Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until evenly distributed.
  4. Combine wet ingredients:
    In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, and melted butter.
  5. Make the batter:
    Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients. Stir until just combined—don’t overmix. The batter will be thick.
  6. Bake:
    Spread the batter evenly in the prepared loaf pan. Bake for 40–45 minutes, or until the top is golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Cool and serve:
    Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then remove to a wire rack. Brush the top with a little extra melted butter if desired. Slice and serve warm or at room temperature.

Variations:

  • Add-ins: Chopped green onions, cooked bacon bits, or herbs (like rosemary or thyme).
  • Cheese swap: Try using pepper jack, Gruyère, or a cheddar blend.
  • Make it spicy: Add a pinch of cayenne or some chopped jalapeños.
