Here’s a simple and delicious recipe for Creamy White Spaghetti with Ham—a comforting pasta dish that combines tender spaghetti, savory ham, and a rich white sauce. Perfect for a quick dinner or a cozy lunch.


🍝 Creamy White Spaghetti with Ham

Ingredients:

  • 200g (7 oz) spaghetti
  • 1 tbsp olive oil or butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 cup ham, diced (use leftover ham or sliced deli ham)
  • 1 cup heavy cream (or all-purpose cream)
  • 1/2 cup milk (optional, for thinning sauce)
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (plus more for topping)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Cook the spaghetti:
    Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook spaghetti until al dente according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. Make the sauce:
    In a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil or butter. Sauté garlic and onion until fragrant and soft (about 2–3 minutes).
  3. Add the ham:
    Toss in the diced ham and cook for another 2–3 minutes until heated through and slightly browned.
  4. Create the creamy base:
    Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir in Parmesan cheese. If the sauce is too thick, add a splash of milk to loosen it.
  5. Season:
    Add salt and pepper to taste. Go light on the salt if your ham is salty.
  6. Combine:
    Add the cooked spaghetti to the pan and toss to coat in the sauce. Cook for another 1–2 minutes until the pasta is well-coated and heated through.
  7. Serve:
    Plate the pasta, sprinkle with more Parmesan cheese and chopped parsley, and serve warm.

Tips:

  • Want it extra cheesy? Add shredded mozzarella or more Parmesan.
  • Add sautéed mushrooms, peas, or spinach for a heartier version.
  • Substitute cream with evaporated milk for a lighter option.
