🍏 Apple Puff Pastry Rolls

🧁 Ingredients:

  • 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed if frozen)
  • 2 medium apples, peeled and diced (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp work well)
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp butter, melted
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • Powdered sugar or caramel sauce (optional for topping)

  1. Preheat oven to 400Β°F (200Β°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare the apple filling:
    • In a bowl, mix diced apples with brown sugar, cinnamon, melted butter, and vanilla extract (if using). Set aside.
  3. Roll out the puff pastry:
    • On a lightly floured surface, roll out puff pastry to smooth any folds.
    • Cut into 3 long strips (about 3 inches wide each), or leave whole for a large roll and slice later.
  4. Assemble the rolls:
    • Spoon apple mixture down the center of each strip.
    • Fold the pastry over the filling, sealing the edges with a fork.
    • Roll gently like a jelly roll or fold into mini turnovers if preferred.
  5. Egg wash:
    • Beat the egg and brush the tops of the rolls for a golden finish.
  6. Bake:
    • Bake for 18–22 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed.
  7. Serve:
    • Let cool slightly. Dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with caramel sauce for extra indulgence.
