Here’s a detailed recipe for Pizza Stuffed Waffle Snacks a fun, handheld snack that combines the crispness of waffles with gooey, cheesy pizza fillings. Perfect for lunchboxes, parties, or weekend treats!


🧇 Pizza Stuffed Waffle Snacks

Serves: 6–8 waffles
Prep time: 15 minutes
Cook time: 5–6 minutes per batch
Equipment needed: Waffle maker (regular or Belgian)


📝 Ingredients

For the Dough (Quick Pizza Dough Option):

  • 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour

  • 2 tsp baking powder

  • ½ tsp salt

  • ¾ cup (180ml) milk

  • ¼ cup (60ml) vegetable oil or melted butter

  • 1 large egg

OR use pre-made pizza dough (about 500g)


For the Filling:

  • ¾ cup (180ml) pizza sauce or marinara

  • 1 ½ cups (150g) shredded mozzarella cheese

  • ½ cup pepperoni, chopped (optional)

  • ¼ cup bell peppers, finely diced (optional)

  • 2 tbsp black olives, sliced (optional)

  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning or dried oregano

  • Pinch of chili flakes (optional)


For Brushing:

  • 2 tbsp melted butter

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley or dried Italian herbs

Step 1: Make the Dough (if not using pre-made)

  1. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.

  2. Add milk, oil, and egg. Mix until a soft dough forms.

  3. Knead lightly on a floured surface for 2–3 minutes.

  4. Divide into 6–8 equal portions. Cover with a damp towel and set aside.


Step 2: Preheat and Prep

  1. Preheat your waffle maker and lightly grease with oil or butter.

  2. In a small bowl, mix melted butter, garlic powder, and parsley. Set aside.


Step 3: Assemble the Waffles

Option A: Using Raw Dough (pillow style)

  1. Roll out each dough portion into a 4–5 inch round or square.

  2. Spoon about 1 tbsp pizza sauce, 2 tbsp cheese, and your favorite toppings into the center.

  3. Fold another piece of dough on top or fold it over, pressing the edges to seal well.

  4. Place stuffed dough into the waffle iron. Cook for 5–6 minutes or until golden brown and crisp.

Option B: Using Pre-made Pizza Dough

  1. Roll dough and cut into squares or circles (4–5 inches).

  2. Fill and seal as above.

  3. Cook in the waffle iron until crisp and golden.


Step 4: Brush and Serve

  1. Immediately brush hot waffles with garlic herb butter for extra flavor.

  2. Let cool for 1–2 minutes, then serve with extra pizza sauce or ranch for dipping.

  • Veggie Delight: Use mushrooms, onions, and spinach.

  • Meat Lover’s: Add cooked sausage, bacon bits, and pepperoni.

  • Hawaiian: Add ham and pineapple chunks.

  • Cheesy Explosion: Use a mix of mozzarella, cheddar, and parmesan.


❄️ Storage & Reheating

  • Store cooled waffles in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.

  • Freeze for up to 2 months. Reheat in a toaster or oven until crisp.
